We are grateful to EVERYONE who supported Council Holiday Programs this season.
These are some of the organizations that donated toys, food, Christmas Trees, volunteers, gift cards and/or funds to make sure all Needham residents had something to celebrate! …and, thanks to all the individuals who shopped at the Council Holiday Boutique, donated items, sent financial donations, gift cards, holiday decorations, delivered gift bags, delivered meals, and more…..
Did you know? For over 25 years the Council has contracted for around-town transportation on a BusyBee van…they went out of business and so did our community van…but…it is back! Thanks to a partnership with the Charles River YMCA we can once again offer residents rides around town.
The Y van will return on Monday, August 20th and will run Mon/Wed/Fri between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The van is not handicapped accessible; independent mobility is required.
Van reservations are required in advance, by phone call only at 781-444-2415
The Needham CAP [Child Assault Prevention] Program is now accepting applications for volunteers for the 2017-18 school year. Join our dynamic and dedicated team of Volunteer Prevention Specialists.
No prior experience is necessary; training is provided and begins on October 29th.
Each year, CAP volunteers, working in teams of 3, present workshops to 1st, 3rd & 5th grade classrooms in the Needham Public Schools. They teach the children strategies and that they have the right to be Safe, Strong and Free with their friends and peers, when they meet adult strangers and with those who are trusted to take care of them.
