Transportation Program

• Medical appointments in Needham and local areas include: BID Hospital-Needham, Dedham Medical, local PT appointments, labs, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, etc. We are not able to provide transportation into Boston or Brookline.
• Volunteer drivers utilize their own personal cars or the Council will set up a fee-based program [eg.  UBER/LYFT] to provide the transportation
  [supported by a grant from BID-Needham Hospital and subsidized with Council funds] 
• not handicapped-accessible
• Rides are considered curb to curb:  driver picks up the person at their home and drops off at medical appointment location; no mobility assistance can be provided
• The driver will either wait for the person or come back when the appointment is finished at a pre-arranged time to bring the person home or call the Council office to have a Lyft ride arranged for pick up.
• Donations gratefully accepted by the Council office; no tipping please

• An expanded transportation program that is offered to Needham residents with “unique transportation needs”
• Call the office to set up your appointment for a Lyft ride
• Rides are offered M-F from 9 am to 3 pm
• All Covid safety protocol is in place – mask must be worn.
• Client must be able to get to and from the car and in and out of the car independently.
